HERE IS A CSA VIRTUAL WORKSHOP
ON MIDI RECORDING AND PRODUCTION
PRESENTED BY BILL PERE
Made possible by a grant from the Connecticut Office of the Arts
A PODCAST INTERVIEW
Bill Pere on Songwriting, Working for Social Justice, and Making Muisc Accessible to All.
Bill Pere joins Jordan Werme on the pod to talk about his life-long passion for songwriting and social justice.
The LUNCH Ensemble represents Bill's ending childhood hunger. He has incorporated his songwriting passion into this work and has written "Songwriter's Coloring Book" to help other songwriters develop their craft. Bill is a Connecticut State Troubadour, President of the Connecticut Songwriter's Association and the 2003 Independent Artist of the Year. This is a wonderful conversation with a genuine expert in the craft.-- Jordan Werme |

Since the pandemic, we are unable to present our annual spring Harry Chapin Tribute Concert to benefit local social services. Folks have come from near and far over the years to support the LUNCH Ensemble in this community favorite event. So that we don't disappoint all those who look forward to it, we have created a virtual online concert with combines performances from many of our past concerts, spanning 20+ years. We took our set list of Chapin favorites, selected a video of the song from one of our past shows, and assembled a playlist that is a good representation of the concert experience. We hope you enjoy this virtual version of our annual Chapin Tribute Show. Stay safe and healthy, and we hope to see you in person in the future.

Mission and Outreach |

If there's a fire burning, or a lesson needs
some learning, or a tide that needs some turning to
a better world somewhere, the Old Folkie's there... - Harry
Chapin
Our Mission and Outreach: (1) addressing issues
of hunger and poverty through awareness and financial support; (2) involving
children and youth in programs which show them they can make a difference; (3)
helping kids to grow into tomorrow's leaders who will shape a world free of
intolerance, injustice, and indifference.
Through our partnerships with the
Connecticut Songwriting Academy and the
Connecticut Songwriters
Association, we help young people develop their potential in all
areas of music, theater, and community leadership. Our flagship programs are the
LUNCH Ensemble and the Harry Chapin Legacy Concerts.
LUNCH is a non-profit, all-volunteer, tax exempt
501(c)(3) charitable organization. LUNCH is non-denominational,
encompassing all faiths, beliefs, and cultures.

Founded in 1989 by
Bill Pere as a community service outreach of the Connecticut
Songwriters Association, and spun off as an independent charitable organization
in 1999, LUNCH was inspired by the work of the late songwriter Harry Chapin, who
founded World Hunger Year and who devoted much of his music career to the fight
against hunger, receiving a posthumous Congressional Medal. Our first event, The
Harry Chapin Legacy Show, was held in 1991.
