2007 Winners
The 2007 Voices For
Hope final auditions were held on June 30 at the historic Granite Theater in
Westerly, RI. For 2007, LUNCH partnered with the organization Angels on
Horseback of Exeter RI, which provides therapeutic riding for children
with physical and mental disabilities. Kay Pere and Bill Pere wrote a
song called "Angels on Horseback", making it available to the
organization to use as a theme song. Voices For Hope launched a search for a young vocalist to sing the song and
be a spokesperson for the benefits of therapeutic riding.
Entries were received from four states, and the 15 chosen finalists
auditioned live at the Granite Theater in Westerly RI, to win a
$500 scholarship and to be a Voices For Hope Ambassador, using the power of
popular music to produce positive social action.
Our sincerest thanks to all who participated in this event. Below are the 15 finalists, all exceptionally talented. As far
as we are concerned, any young person who gives their time and talent to
help others in need is a winner in all the things that count in life.
All 15 finalists are eligible to take part in special LUNCH recording and
performing events.
