THE
LUNCH SUMMER MUSIC CAMP
in partnership with
Camp Wightman.
Music Director: Bill Pere
From 1996-2009 The LUNCH Summer Music Camp provided a
music and camping experience for more than 800 kids
and adults throughout the northeast, and generated more than $150,000 in revenue
for Camp Wightman and other local programs. Located in North Stonington on Billings Lake,
Camp Wightman provided a beautiful setting for this experience. For a week
in July, 30-40 campers from grades 4-7 , plus 10-12 counselors, worked with the members of the
LUNCH Ensemble to learn several songs and skits, and put on a great show at the
end of the week. Many campers returned year after year. Several
went on to become counselors or performing members of the LUNCH Ensemble.
LUNCH Music Camp gives campers a new way to understand music, and it
provides the Ensemble members with a week of intensive music learning -- as well
as lots of fun, as you can see in our photo albums. We hope to be able to
resume this program in the future.
From 2010 to the present, LUNCH continues to support Camp Wightman with an annual retreat for songwriters, where we teach how well written songs can be used to effect positive social change. ( info / photos )
