ATTENTION  ANYONE WHO HAS EVER BEEN PART OF A LUNCH PRODUCTION

2009 marks our 20th Anniversary.  We plan to have a Reunion Celebration for all people who have ever participated in any LUNCH event.  We will defer our celebration until 2010 because of the current widespread economic hardships.  If you think you might like to attend,  make sure we have your current e-mail and contact info.  More details will be posted here as time goes on.  Please
e-mail us with your current contact info and you'll be sure to get all the updates as plans progress.

If there's a fire burning, or a lesson needs some learning, or a tide that needs some turning to
a better world somewhere,  the Old Folkie's there... - Harry Chapin

Outreach: (1) addressing issues of hunger and poverty through awareness and financial support; (2) involving children and youth in programs which show them they can make a difference; (3) helping kids to grow into tomorrow's leaders who will shape a world free of intolerance, injustice, and indifference.   Through our partnerships with the Connecticut Songwriting Academy and the Connecticut Songwriters Association, we help young people develop their potential in all areas of music, theater, and community leadership. Our flagship programs are the LUNCH Ensemble and the Harry Chapin Legacy Concerts.

LUNCH is a non-profit, all-volunteer, tax exempt 501(c)(3) charitable organization.  LUNCH is non-denominational, encompassing all faiths, beliefs, and cultures.

Founded in 1989 by Bill Pere as a community service outreach of the Connecticut Songwriters Association, and spun off as an independent charitable organization in 1999, LUNCH was inspired by the work of the late songwriter Harry Chapin, who founded World Hunger Year and who devoted much of his music career to the fight against hunger, receiving a posthumous Congressional Medal. Our first event, The Harry Chapin Legacy Show, was held in 1991.
